Hurupaki After School Care
We operate from the Hurupaki School Hall, providing care for the children of Hurupaki Primary School. We have a bus service that collect’s children from Matarau Primary school.
Our programme is designed to be safe, engaging, and fun, catering to the needs and interests of each child. We create a warm, caring environment where children can enjoy a balance of activities—quiet or active, group or individual—while fostering social connections and recreation.
We celebrate the cultural diversity of our community and strive to offer a well-managed, inclusive service that meets local needs.
All children, including casual attendees, must be registered and formally enrolled before joining our programme.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:45 PM – 5:45 PM (during school terms only).
Afternoon tea is provided, and children can look forward to a variety of daily activities that offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor play on the adventure playground, along with organised games that promote teamwork and fun. During terms 1 and 4, they can enjoy time in the swimming pool, while on other days, safe and active games are available indoors. For creative minds, there are also engaging drawing, art, and craft activities, ensuring there’s something exciting for every child.
Our fee’s are:
2:45pm – 3:45pm: $14
2:45pm – 4:45pm: $16
2:45pm – 5:45pm: $18
A discount of 10% is available for the second/third child attending.
We offer casual after school care for families who need flexibility from time to time. It’s easy to book in as needed, and all children are welcome.
Casual fee’s are:
2:45pm – 3:45pm: $16
2:45pm – 4:45pm: $18
2:45pm – 5:45pm: $20
All children are to be collected no later than 5:30pm each day. A penalty fee of $6 per child for every five minutes after 5:30pm may be charged.
The supervisor is to be advised if someone other than the appointed person is to collect the child(ren). No child(ren) will be released to an unauthorised person.
Our programme is OSCAR accredited, families can apply for WINZ assistance – conditions apply. Our OSCAR policy and procedures document for both programmes is available upon request.
Hurupaki Educare is a completely separate entity from Hurupaki Primary School. Neither its staff nor the Board of Trustees are liable for any act or omission arising through Hurupaki Educare’s activities.
